SUS launches public campaign about the student housing crisis!

Today, SUS is launching a new campaign about the student housing crisis in Stockholm. Through students’ own stories, collected during the spring semester of 2026, we want to show the reality behind the statistics. The campaign will be visible across Stockholm’s metro system between August 31 to September 13. The stories are also featured on a dedicated campaign website.

“Despite years of reports and statistics on students’ housing situation, students are still the ones paying the price for the housing shortage. That’s why we want to highlight the reality behind the statistics. We have collected countless stories from students who are forced to spend an unreasonable share of their student finance on housing with mould and pest infestations, or who have to accept sublets from unscrupulous and, in some cases, outright dangerous landlords. This is the reality for students in Stockholm. We hope these stories will make it impossible for politicians to continue ignoring the issue and instead compel them to take real action on housing during this election campaign,” says Oliviae Odenskiöld, President of SUS.
