Summary of the latest Representative Assembly meeting!
The latest Representative Assembly meeting took place Thursday, February 26. These meetings are open to the public and offer you, as a student, the chance to stay informed about what’s happening at SUS!
Highlights from the meeting:
SUS activity report
The presidium presented the activity report and outlined the work on the prioritized advocacy issues. Among other things, they provided an update on the status of Stockholm University’s premises optimization project and the ongoing campaign SUS is running regarding students’ right to recovery.
Updates were also given on developments within SUS’s three operational areas, as well as membership trends compared to the previous year.
Other matters
The SUS office was present to provide information about the upcoming student union election.
All participants were also given the opportunity to take part in a workshop on SUS’s core values ahead of the upcoming operational plan.
Among the approved decisions were motions that SUS should:
work to provide childcare on campus
advocate for expanded opportunities for exemptions from the maximum number of weeks of student financial aid
allow the Speaker of the Respresentative Assembly to wear a ceremonial robe
pursue the issue of winter accessibility related to bus stops and snow removal at Frescati and Albano
work to introduce weekend opening hours on campus
