Summary of the latest Representative Assembly meeting!
The latest Representative Assembly meeting took place Thursday, May 22. These meetings are open to the public and offer you, as a student, the chance to stay informed about what’s happening at SUS!
Highlights from the meeting:
New honorary member of SUS
The Representative Assembly marked the retirement of several people, including someone who has been the operative heartbeat of SUS for several years – Chief Operating Officer Camilla Sjölund Lundevall. She has been part of SUS for 8 years and June 30 is Camilla's last day as she retires. As a thank you for her commitment, she was appointed by the Representative Assembly as an honorary member of SUS, an award that is given to those who have made a special contribution to SUS.
New Talman at SUS
Martin Hansson, board member and part of the Election committee for 2024/2025, was elected as the new Talman for the upcoming year. SUS thus has a new Talman for the first time in two years!
SUS activity report
SUS’s President Hermela Embaye and Vice president Victor Nygren, updated the Representative Assembly on the ongoing work on the prioritized advocacy issues during the activity report, which includes the article series about Akademiska Hus (in Swedish), an issue of more effective development of study and research environments.
QuestionsThe Representative Assembly discussed a question concerning a consumer boycott of the Coca Cola Company. In line with the question, the Representative Assembly decided to give the board the task of investigating the possibility of ceasing to offer products from the Coca Cola Company at events connected to SUS.
New board
In addition to SUS new President, Victor Nygren, and a new Vice president, Kai Nuñez Wiklund, the SUS board (7 regular + 7 deputies) was also elected, who have committed to organizing and leading SUS activities for the upcoming year. See the full list of board members here!
